Lionel Messi helps Inter Miami win their first ever title.

Inter Miami have won the 2023 League's Cup after a 10-9 penalty shoot-out victory over Nashville SC at the Geodis Park in Nashville.

Lionel Messi gave Inter Miami the lead in the 23rd minute of the game but Fafa Picault equalized for Nashville in the 57th minute to force the game into a nervy penalty shoot-out. It was a really long shoot-out full of nerves and suspense as all ten outfield for both teams played and it came down to the goalkeepers to decide who wins the shoot-out. Inter Miami's Drake Callender stepped up and scored and went ahead to save Elliot Panicco's shot which was the moment that helped Inter Miami end the shoot-out victories to win their first ever title.

With this cup win, Lionel Messi became the most decorated footballer of all time with 44 official trophies won in his entire career. 4 UEFA Champions League trophies, 10 La Liga titles, 2 French Ligue 1, 7 Copa del Rey, 1 French Super Cup, 8 Spanish Super Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 3 Club World Cups, 1 World Cup trophy, 1 Finalissima, 1 Copa America, 1 Olympic, 1 U-20 World Cup and 1 League cup trophy. Messi also won the Best player award as well as being the top scorer in the just concluded League's Cup.

Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami side have another shot at yet another trophy right away as their triumph in the League's Cup has secured them a place in the Semi-final of the US Open Cup. Inter Miami would take on FC Cincinnati. It would be yet another challenge for Lionel Messi and his new Inter Miami side who are still bottom of the MLS and would be facing the best team in the league but Lionel Messi's side look a different team entirely since his arrival as they've won all their seven games Lionel Messi has featured in.
