LeBron and Bronny James Make NBA History in Lakers Season Opener

The James family has made NBA history as LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, played together for the first time in an official NBA game during the Los Angeles Lakers' season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The historic moment unfolded in the second quarter, when both LeBron, entering his 22nd NBA season, and Bronny, the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, checked into the game with four minutes remaining. The Lakers were leading by 16 points at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, with a sellout crowd witnessing this landmark event.

Among the excited fans were legendary father-son baseball duo Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr., who shared in the excitement of the moment. Savannah James, LeBron’s wife and Bronny’s mother, was also present, proudly watching her husband and 20-year-old son share the court.

LeBron has long expressed his desire to play alongside his son in the NBA, calling it a "dream come true." That dream was realized last night as the father-and-son duo made their official debut together. Although they had played together in a preseason game on October 6, this regular-season appearance cements their place in NBA history.

Bronny, who previously impressed with 17 points in an exhibition game against the Warriors earlier this month, hopes this will be just the first of many appearances alongside his father in the league
