House Representative Alex Ikwechegh Apologizes for Assault Incident Involving Bolt Driver

Alex Ikwechegh, a representative in the House for the Aba North/South federal constituency in Abia State, has issued an apology following an incident involving the assault of Stephen Abuwatseya, a Bolt driver.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Ikwechegh expressed deep remorse for his actions, stating, “What began as a misunderstanding escalated into actions and remarks I deeply regret, which do not reflect the values and character I strive to uphold, both as a citizen and as a representative of the people.”

He continued, “I sincerely apologize for my words and actions during this incident. I recognize the distress and frustration this has caused Citizen Abuwatseya, his family, and the public at large.”

Ikwechegh acknowledged the responsibility of his position, emphasizing the impact his words and actions can have on others as a public servant
