House of Representatives to Investigate FIRS, CAC, and NDIC Over Employment Practices and Expenditures


The House of Representatives has announced plans to investigate the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) concerning allegations of biased employment practices and extra-budgetary expenditures.

During a plenary session on Thursday, led by Deputy Speaker Mr. Benjamin Kalu, the House adopted a motion sponsored by Mr. Ali Isa JC to scrutinize the hiring processes within these agencies. The aim is to assess their compliance with the Federal Character principles outlined in the amended 1999 Constitution.

Deputy Speaker Kalu stated that he would introduce the committee members tasked with probing the agencies within four weeks, with an announcement expected on Tuesday of next week
