The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended Jonathan James for allegedly murdering his 65-year-old aunt, Ramatu Musa. The incident occurred in the Badagaza Quarters area, where James reportedly stabbed his aunt to death with a knife.
According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the attack took place on October 21, 2024, around 1:35 AM. The police received a distress call shortly after the incident, indicating that Musa had sustained serious injuries to her chest.
Upon arrival, a patrol team from the Pantami division, led by ASP Girema Yahaya, rushed the victim to a specialist hospital in Gombe. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on arrival by medical staff.
The police visited the crime scene, where they arrested James and recovered the knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
He is expected to be charged in court soon as the investigation continues
