Fire Erupts on Lagos Blue Line Track, No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the NEPA Station, close to Eko Bridge in Apogbon, Lagos State, around 4:12 p.m. on Saturday. The incident was reported by Gboyega Akosile, the spokesperson for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on social media.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, and train services were not operational at the time of the fire. Emergency responders and safety personnel quickly arrived at the scene and effectively extinguished the flames, ensuring the safety of the Blue Line track.

“Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control,” Akosile stated. He advised the public to await further updates regarding train operations from the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
