FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: Nigeria knocked out by England.

 

 

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been knocked out of the Round of 16 by the England’s women team at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia. 

 

No goals were scored after over 120 minutes of footballing action but England were able to progress thanks to a 4-2 penalty shootout win.

 

Despite playing the extra-time with a man down as Lauren James was sent off in the 87th minute of the game, England were able to scale through to victory.

 

Desire Oparanozie and Michelle Alozie were the early penalty takers for the Super Falcons and both failed to convert their spot kicks even after Georgia Stanway missed the very first penalty for England.
