Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects, Highlights Agricultural Development

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Ikole Township Road and the Ilumoba-Ijesa Isu-Ikole 33kVA electricity project, emphasizing the importance of agricultural development in reducing crime, particularly kidnapping, in the region.

During the inauguration, Governor Oyebanji stated that his administration is committed to enhancing power and road infrastructure while focusing on agriculture to ensure food security and economic opportunities. He noted that opening more land for commercial farming has had a positive impact on local security.

“This inauguration is not merely symbolic; it represents a step towards having at least 1,000 tractors in Enugu State by next year,” he remarked, highlighting the continuity of development initiated by his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. The governor expressed his administration's commitment to making Ekiti an attractive destination for investors.

Traditional rulers and community leaders expressed their support for Governor Oyebanji, commending his administration’s life-changing policies and projects over the past two years. They unanimously endorsed him for another term, pledging to reward his efforts with their votes.

The Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Adewumi Ajibade Fasiku, emphasized community backing for the governor, while the Alaaye of Oke Ayedun Ekiti, Oba Olufemi Aribisala, expressed appreciation for the governor’s contributions across various sectors.

Governor Oyebanji assured residents that his administration would continue to provide the necessary infrastructure and support to facilitate agricultural investments. He urged citizens to take advantage of opportunities within the Special Agriculture Processing Zone (SAPZ) and promised to address issues such as non-energized transformers and compensation for land used in development.

He also noted ongoing projects, including the rehabilitation of Isinbode-Ara-Ikole Road and improvements to Ado-Iluomoba Road, which will further enhance access to the SAPZ.

In closing, Governor Oyebanji encouraged the people of Ikole Local Government Area to collaborate with his administration to drive further progress, reinforcing the commitment to boosting the local economy and enhancing security through agricultural expansion.
