Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has voiced strong criticism against a recent court order that halts financial allocations to Rivers State.
The Federal High Court in Abuja ruled that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should refrain from releasing funds to the Rivers State government until a lawful Appropriation Act is passed by a validly constituted House of Assembly.
In response to the judgment, Atiku, through his spokesperson Paul Ibe, expressed concerns that the judiciary's actions could "destabilize" Rivers State. He further questioned the appropriateness of the judge's decision to issue an injunction while the case remains under appeal in the Supreme Court
