You’re a Disappointment – Oba of Benin Tackles Buhari’s Minister

Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, has voiced his "total disappointment" over what he called the "lopsided representation" made by Prince Clem Agba, the recently-retired Minister of State Budget and National Planning.

NAN reports that the Oba made this statement in a speech given in Benin by the monarch's chief press secretary, Mr. Iguobaro Osaigbovo.

The King highlighted that the former minister had not provided Edo South and Edo Central senatorial districts with ministerial privileges while in office.

In response to the Minister, who was paying the palace a thank-you-visit for its role in facilitating his appointment as a minister by former President Muhammadu Buhari, Oba Ewuare reportedly expressed dismay.

Oba Ewuare stated that Agba should have returned the favor to the state's three senatorial zones after benefiting from the goodwill that resulted in his appointment rather than partaking in "politics of disintegration."

In addition, all Edo natives were urged by Oba Ewuare to use their influence to improve the lives of the people and bring development to the state.

According to him, the former State Budget and Planning Minister performed "below expectation."
