Chelsea Announces 'Transfer' Decision for Potential Reece James Replacement Following Injury Setbacks

Chelsea has officially confirmed that versatile defender Genesis Antwi has signed a professional contract with the club. This comes after several academy players, such as Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Josh-Kofi Acheampong, have also been recognized for their hard work.

Antwi, who joined the club as an Under-12 player, has progressed through the ranks at Cobham and can play on both sides of the defense. At 17 years old, he primarily competes with the Under-18 team but made two appearances for the Under-21 squad in Premier League 2 last season.

The Swedish-born youth international contributed to the Blues' success in winning the Under-18 Premier League South last season and participated in their Under-17 Premier League Cup final victory. He now aims to follow in the footsteps of Cobham graduates by making the transition to the development squad and eventually to first-team training.
