Germany's head coach, Kathrin Peter, stated that her team rightfully earned their victory against the Falconets. The Europeans secured their spot in the knockout stage of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 3-1 win over Nigeria.
Although the former champions faced challenges from the Falconets in the first half, they took control of the match after the break.
Peter acknowledged the strength of their opponents but maintained that her team deserved to take all three points. “It was a very tough match today, as we expected, and we did have significant issues in defense,” she told FIFA.com.
“We were fortunate on a few occasions, and I admit that. However, in the second half, we played exceptionally well, asserted our dominance, and I believe we earned the win in the end.”
