Bola Tinubu, the president-elect of Nigeria, has received congratulations from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, for winning the 2023 presidential election.
Zelenskyy also extended an invitation to Tinubu to travel to the country, according to a statement from the Office of the President-elect, signed by Tunde Rahman.
In a letter of congratulations, Zelenskyy expressed his satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the general elections in Nigeria and praised Tinubu's election as the country's new leader.
Zelenskyy continued by saying that his nation is committed to advancing its partnership with Nigeria.
“Please accept my sincere congratulations on your election as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Despite extremely difficult testing times, caused by the full-scale armed aggression of Russia against our State, Ukraine is determined to further strengthen cooperation with Nigeria at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations, " the statement added.
