Troops Evict ISWAP Terrorists, Uncover Underground Armoury in Sambisa

A substantial cache of weapons and ammunition were seized from ISWAP terrorists by brave officers and men of the 21 Armored Brigade after they had been driven out of Borno State's Sambisa forest by Operation Hadin Kai troops.

Zagazola Makama, a Counterinsurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, was informed by reliable sources that the terrorists' group had stashed substantial numbers of weapons in dug pits.

On May 13, 2023, following an intense counterterrorism operation, the military allegedly entered the Ukuba camp on the outskirts of Bama Local Government Area and found a vast armory.

According to the sources, 50 hand grenade bombs, 5 SMK bombs, a variety of Rocket Propelled Grenade Tubes, SMG rifles, double barrel guns, and other weapons were found.

183 Shilka rounds, several IED-making supplies, non-electric detonators, numerous IEDs that were already manufactured, as well as multiple canister bombs are among the other items that were discovered.

As ground and air support continued to maintain pressure on the terrorists, killing scores of them while forcing many others to flee, reports also indicated that troops of Operation DESERT - LAKE - MOUNTAIN II, who began a special on 27 Apr 23, are making steady progress along the Sambisa - Timbuktu Triangle axis, as well as shores of the Lake Chad.

Ukuba, Garno, Alafa, Garin Doctor, Njumia, Izzah, Alafa D, Farisu, Somalia, Garin Glucose, Garin Ba'aba, and Bula Abu Amir were a few of the terrorists' hideouts that were recently destroyed.
