Total of 135 Boko Haram Members Surrendered to Troops in North East

Following the week-long sustained offensive by the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Sambisa Forest, 135 additional Boko Haram terrorists and members of their families have been captured in the Bama Local Government area.

 

Before these enormous victories, this newspaper had reported that more than 800,000 repentant Boko Haram members had been housed and well-cared for at their designated camp inside Maiduguri metropolis since last year.

 

In the meantime, members of the 151 Task Force Battalion Banki have neutralized an unspecified number of Boko Haram terrorists and rescued two aid workers in Sambisa Forest (names withheld) as part of Operation Hadin Kai.

 

Reliable Sources have reported, and an Intelligence Zagazola Makama, a Counterinsurgency Expert, and Security Analyst confirmed the information on Sunday morning in the Lake Chad region.

 

“The terrorists laid down their arms fews days after the troops of 21-Armored Brigade, Bama, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) and 199 Special Forces Battalion in collaboration with  Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), stormed 12 hideouts of the terrorists and killed 35 Boko Haram terrorists.” Said a military officer who pleaded anonymity, as he was not authorized to speak to the press.

 

According to reports, the 202 Battalion in Bama received a surrender from the terrorists and their family members, who included 3 males, 6 females, and 13 children from the villages of Ngurusoye and Kelani.

 

In a similar vein, soldiers from the 151 Battalion in Banki Junction received a surrender from one man, five women, and six children from the villages of Kauri, Siraja, and Lene Hassana.

 

According to sources, 113 more insurgents from the villages of Balangaje, Bula-Waziri, Bula-Kurma, and Sabil-Huda in Yamteke community turned themselves in to the 192 Battalion's soldiers.

 

“The subjects were handed over to the authorities for profiling.”

 

Speaking to the soldiers of the 21 Armored Brigade Bama, Maj. Gen. AE Abubakar, The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sect 1 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, tasked them with eliminating any remaining terrorists and ensuring the restoration of complete peace to the North East.

 

In a related development, members of Operation Hadin Kai's 151 Task Force Battalion Banki have neutralized an undetermined number of Boko Haram terrorists and rescued two aid workers from Sambisa Forest.

 

According to reports, the insurgents were killed when the troops, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force and Hybrid forces, stormed the terrorists' hideouts in Gargash, which is a part of Borno State's Bama Local Government Area.

 

According to the sources, the engagement was motivated by the successful rescue of two 2022 kidnapped aid workers from Monguno.

 

Three Hilux vehicles were also found by the troops, one of which was equipped with anti-aircraft guns.
