Popular Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress and proclaimed Queen of Afrobeats; Tiwatope Savage known professionally as Tiwa savage has just been the most recent victim of what may have been either a kidnapping or an assassination attempt.
Rumuors had began spreading on Thursday about what would have been a dark day for the Nigerian industry, fans and family of the star singer.
The Somebody son singer has confirmed that there was indeed a security breach at her home in Lagos state on Thursday, 16th April 2023.
Her management disclosed this in a statement issued via her verified Instagram page on Friday. It read:
“ Following recent reports online, we can confirm that on Thursday 13th April 2023 there was a major security breach at the residence of musician Tiwa Savage."
It also further went on to ensure fans and well wishers that the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon, Ikoyi in Lagos state have detained some suspects, -in connection with the incident and they are currently at Alagbon Police Station undergoing interrogation.
It also assured the public that the Eminado crooner and her family were rescued and are safe:
“A number of suspects were caught and are currently being held under investigation at Alagbon Police Station, Ikoyi. Ms Savage and her family are safe and well.â€
The department’s spokesperson, CSP Oluniyi Ogundeyi, confirmed this to newsmen on Saturday in Lagos.
To further quell the raging questions In the hearts and on the lips of netizens across the media about who could have orchestrated the villainous attempt, several reports and rumuors have pinned Ms. Savage's apparently new domestic staff who had been entrusted with vital information regarding the star.
Undisclosed sources have revealed that the domestic staff in question had been trailing the singer as she left her home and shared the information with other members of the alleged kidnapping gang.
An Instagram user with Intel on the Savage family has also claimed that the EMA-winning artist's driver had masterminded the entire attempt. In her post, she instigated that the driver had been trailing the singer's movement for days until he was caught by the police.
She further went on to warn celebrities to be wary of their domestic staff while we wait for an official release regarding the spearhead of Tiwa's kidnapping attempt.
