Tight security as presidential tribunal delivers judgement today

At the Court of Appeal Headquarters in Abuja, where the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, will rule on three petitions that call for President Bola Tinubu's resignation, there is a significant security presence.

All entry points to the court are guarded by heavily armed security personnel from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps, or NSCDC, while men from the Department of State Services, or DSS, check the identification of visitors with long lists.

The court had issued a warning that only authorised individuals would be permitted access while also ordering its workers to remain at home.

The court did state, however, that it would allow live broadcast of its decision regarding the three petitions.
