STUDYING LAW IN KANO WITHOUT MUSIC FEELS LIKE A CAVE AND THIS GENERATED THE BRAND NAME - THE CAVEMEN.

Kingsley Okorie, one-half of the popular Nigerian highlife band, The Cavemen, recently revealed his decision to pursue music professionally despite being a certified lawyer. Music has always been his passion, and after completing Law school, he chose to follow his heart and venture into the music industry alongside his brother, Benjamin.

Benjamin, on the other hand, took a different path. He opted not to attend university and instead went to a music school, where he studied music for two years. The duo eventually reunited, and together they formed The Cavemen.

Kingsley explained his inspiration behind the band's name, recalling a moment during law school in Kano, away from the bustling music scenes of Lagos and Abuja. Feeling like he was in a cave and disconnected from the music world, he humorously referred to himself as a “caveman.” When he shared this with his brother, Benjamin agreed that the name was fitting, and thus, The Cavemen was born.

Despite their different educational paths, both brothers have found fulfillment in their respective choices. Benjamin's love for music, especially playing the drums since the tender age of two, led him to pursue his passion without any pressure from their family. As they continue to make waves in the highlife genre, they exemplify the power of following one's heart and turning a passion into a successful career.
