Spain are the 2022/23 Nation League champions for the first time after defeating Croatia 5-4 on penalties following a goalless draw after 120 minutes of action at the De Kuip Arena in Rotterdam.
Joselu, Rodri, Mikel Merino, Marco Asensio and Dani Carvajal were the penalty scorers for Spain as Aymeric Laporte’s penalty miss wasn’t enough to stop them from becoming champions owing to the fact that both Lovro Majer and Bruno Petkovic missed their spot kicks for Croatia while Nikola Vlasic, Marcelo Brozovic, Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic all scored from the spot.
Spain became only the second team after France to win the EURO Championship, World Cup and Nations League.
