Southampton’s 0-2 loss to Fulham at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton have all but confirmed the bottom-placed side would be relegated from the Premier League after an 11-year spell in the top flight of English football.
Carlos Vinicius gave Fulham the lead in the 48th minute before substitute Aleksandar Mitrovic marked his return from suspension with a goal in the 72nd minute to all but confirm the drop for Southampton.
Southampton have accumulated just 24 points from 36 games played which is certainly not good enough for survival and therefore, they would not be playing in the Premier League next campaign.
