American singer and actress Selena Gomez has been the recent highlight of the new week after a video of her appearing to shout at a security guard while attending Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour in Paris last week has gained prominence.
Asides Gomez, Beyoncé’s Paris show was also attended by other celebrities such as reality TV star Kylie Jenner, rapper Megan Thee Stallion and star athlete Serena Williams.
In a viral video from a Friday, 26th May, the 30-year-old Lose You To Love Me singer can be seen telling off a security guard who was walking beside her.
Though the reason why the ‘Rare beauty’ mogul lost her temper has not been revealed so far, some fans suspect the guard was being overzealous when fans were trying to approach Gomez, which caused her to question him.
At the point of this report, it is still unclear whether the guard was a part of Gomez’s team, if he was a hired staff working at the venue, or he was part of Beyoncé’s security team.
Selena isn’t the only celebrity to have recently lashed out at security personnel this month.
Just last week, Taylor Swift briefly interrupted her performance of “Bad Blood” during her Philadelphia ‘Eras’ concert to defend a fan who was involved in an incident with security personnel in the crowd.
While the cause of the brief altercation between Selena and the official is unknown, some reports have claimed that the singer was “smiling and being very friendly with fans at the event.”
This may have in turn caused the security official’s overzealousness to ‘step in’.
Selena Gomez has been a touchy subject for the media in months following reports of her mental health.
Gomez had asked her fans to “be kinder and consider others’ mental health” in her first TikTok post since rumours began circulating about on alleged feud between her and her ex’s Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber.
