At a reception honoring President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu met with his predecessors, Akinwunmi Ambode and Babatunde Fashola.
The three men will appear at the same event for the first time in four years.
Gbenga Akosile, Sanwo-Olu's Chief Press Secretary, announced the news in a video posted on his Twitter account.
He said, “Breaking: Governors Fashola, Ambode, and Sanwo-Olu meet at the Lagos House, Marina for the first time in over four years at a reception organised by Governor @jidesanwoolu in honour of President @officialABAT, who’s in Lagos for Sallah celebrationâ€
Prior to this meeting, Sanwo-Olu had paid Ambode a visit during his birthday party, which many Lagosians appreciated.
While thanking Sanwo-Olu for his visit, Ambode remarked, "I want to say 'thank you, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu." What you did today has warmed our hearts.
“We are happy that this happened at a moment where I am marking my 60th birthday. I want to show appreciation for all the kind words you have said to me and expressed in the media. I strongly believe God will continue to strengthen your courage and ability to deliver greater good to the larger humanity. This is what is expected. I believe strongly that with what you have done today, we will all work to ensure that you leave a good legacy
After completing his constitutional two-term, Babatunde Fashola passed over to Akinwunmi Ambode in 2015, and Sanwo-Olu took over from the latter in 2019.
