Robertson vs Assistant Referee

Assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis won’t be appointed to officiate until the Robertson investigation is over. It appeared that during the half time break, at the Anfield in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal, Hatzidakis aimed an elbow at the face of the Liverpool defender.

In a statement after the game, the Professional Game Match Officials Board announced they have begun an investigation on the case and therefore, the assistant referee would not be appointed for any game. The statement reads:

“PGMOL will not be appointing Constantine Hatzidakis to fixtures in any of the competition it serves whilst the FA investigates the incident involving the assistant referee and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at Anfield.”
