Real Madrid's Benz-ema cruise ensures smooth passage into Quarter final.

Karim Benzema's simple near post finish in the 77th minute, only his 3rd goal in the competition this season, was more than enough to ensure a mission impossible task for Liverpool as the English side were  knocked out of the UEFA Champions League losing 6-2 on aggregate.
Carlo Ancelotti's men started the game on the front foot with the confidence of progressing to the next round after a commanding display at Anfield in the first leg making the job easy at home for the second leg.

An entertaining first 45 minutes where both goal keepers were the best performers on the pitch, responsible for keeping the score-line at bay as Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, who had the best chance for his team was denied twice by Thibaut Courtois and Allison Becker also making a couple of fine stops at the opposite end of the pitch.

The reigning champions showed their experience in the second half, controlling the game excellently well with the help of ever-present midfield maestro Luka Modric at the heart of the show but it was the combination of Brazilian and French forwards Vinicius Jnr. and Karim Benzema that broke the deadlock with just 12 minutes of normal time to play.

The Spanish giants are chasing a record 15th UCL title while Liverpool's exit from the competition means Jurgen Klopp's side only have the top 4 of the domestic league to fight for having been knocked out of every possible trophy this season.
