On Monday, Tinubu's director of media and publicity, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed his return to Nigeria.
Recall that after a very demanding campaign and election season, Tinubu, according to a statement signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman, had traveled abroad to rest and plan his transition program prior to the May 29, 2023 inauguration.
Rahman had said, “The president-elect decided to take a break after the hectic campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London, preparatory to going to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the Ramadan Fasting that begins Thursday.â€
He claimed that Tinubu would plan his transition strategy while away in order to return to Nigeria on time.
He urged the media to refrain from reporting rumors and unverified claims and to constantly ask the transition team for clarification.
