PORTABLE REVEALS WHY HE REJECTED TINUBU’S 5MILLION NAIRA

Controversial Nigerian street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has angrily broken his silence and revealed why he refused to perform at the president-elect, Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Concert in Abuja.

It was reported that the presidential-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a concert in commemoration of his forthcoming tenure as president of Nigeria. The concert, celebrating the pre-inauguration of the president-elect was held on Thursday, 25th May at M.K Abiola stadium, Abuja and featured a line-up of musical artists including veteran musicians Wande Coal and Kcee.

However, the Zazoo crooner who was believed to be performing had been noticeably absent among the list of performers and this had raised questions, especially since the singer was one of the artists who had once campaigned for the APC candidate now president-elect.

Reacting to these concerns and queries, the artist took to his Instagram page on Friday to -in his usual style, vent out his unfettered views.

In now-viral clips posted on social media, he revealed that the Tinubu's inauguration concert organisers offered him N5 million instead of N10m that was billed for his performance.

The artist, seemingly furious reminded inquirers that he had been the one who sang a campaign song for the politician and one of the few who campaigned for the president-elect.

ZAzuu Them Dõn Rip Me oooh Na Me Sing Akoi TINUBU. Eja Loni Ibu. Give What Belongs To ZAZUU To ZAZUU.”

 Narrating the ordeal he said:

"That was what they called my manager. Saying they want me to perform in Abuja. And I was paid 10 million, but na five million, go reach my hand. That was why I disagreed, tore the paper and deleted the number. You dey whine, Jesus? Na hin no make me perform for Abuja o.”

He also took jabs at the artists that performed and are now singing Tinubu's praises, claiming that they did not do so when he was campaigning but have switched up now that he's about to be president:

"Na me sing Akoi Tinubu o. No be Obi una dey vote for? Tinubu enters now those useless people went to perform there, no be me promote Tinubu?"
