OFFICIAL: Jordi Alba set to leave Barcelona at the end of the season.

Fc Barcelona have announced that they have reached an agreement with Jordi Alba to terminate the Spanish left-back’s contract at the end of the season which would bring his decade long stay at the club to an end.

The 34-year old, often regarded as one of the best full-backs of his generation, has made 458 appearances for the Spanish club and scored 27 goals, while also giving 91 assists which is a remarkable number for the position he plays in.

The former La Masia graduate spent eleven consecutive seasons at Barcelona since joining from Valencia in 2012 and won 18 major trophies with the club which includes 6 La Liga titles, 5 Copa del Rey, 4 Spanish Super Cup, 1 UEFA Champions League, 1 UEFA Super cup and 1 FIFA Club world cup titles.

He leaves as one of the major captains of the club and this announcement comes just a few weeks after the announcement of Sergio Busquets, who is also set to depart the Catalan club at the end of the season.
