No ''Conte-nuation' for Antonio as he part ways with Tottenham

Premier League side Tottenham have officially parted company with Antonio Conte after the Italian’s controversial post-match comments following the 3-3 draw at Southampton.

Sixteen months after his appointment, Conte departs the English side leaving them to face yet another season without a trophy since 2008 as the North London side have been dumped out of every cup competition this season.

The Italian whose contract was due in the summer branded his players as ‘selfish’, in his last post-match comments as Tottenham’s boss, after his side blew away a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 at the St. Mary’s stadium against bottom of the table Southampton. He said; â€œI’m not used to seeing this type of situation. I see a lot of selfish players and I don’t see a team. We are 11 players that go into the pitch. I see selfish players, I see players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put their heart in.”

He then went further to blast the team, saying â€œBecause they are used to it here, they are used to it. They don’t play for something important. They don’t want to play under pressure, they don’t want to play under stress. It is easy in this way. Tottenham’s story is this. Twenty years there is the owner and they never won something – but why? The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stay here.”

Spurs have also announced Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini will be acting as the head coach till the end of the season with Ryan Mason his assistant.
