During the launch at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Monday, Mrs. Tinubu explained that her idea for a national fabric was inspired by her visit to Zimbabwe in December 2023, where she observed a similar initiative.
She announced that the new fabric would be worn nationwide to celebrate Nigeria's Independence Day on October 1, 2024. The First Lady also mentioned that the fabric would be mass-produced by local manufacturers to support the textile industry, create jobs, and boost the economy.
