A British man tragically fatally injured himself while attempting to separate two frozen burgers with a knife, an inquest revealed. Barry Griffiths, 57, passed away in his Wales flat after accidentally stabbing himself in the stomach while preparing a meal.
His body was discovered several days later, fully clothed on his bed. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Griffiths, who had limited use of one arm due to a stroke, died from a stab wound. Concerns for his wellbeing were raised after he had not been seen for over a week.
Described as a "very private man," Griffiths was found with his mobile phone, wallet, and computer nearby. Detective Sergeant Stephen Vaughan, who attended the scene, stated he believed the death was not a suicide but rather an unexplained accident, with no signs of assault. Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Rees added that the evidence suggested the injury was purely accidental and involved only Griffiths.
