The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have progressed to the quarter-finals of the U-20 world cup after defeating host nation Argentina 2-0 at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario in San Juan.
19-year old Ibrahim Muhammad scored his first goal of the competition to give the green and white Eagles the lead in the 61stminute before Rilwanu Sarki sealed victory for Ladan Bosso’s men in the 91st minute.
Argentina were one of the favorites for the competition but Nigeria have ended their dreams by eliminating them against all odds to progress to the quarter-finals.
Nigeria would face the winner of the match between Ecuador and South Korea.
