Nigeria Air: EFCC Invites Sirika For Questioning

 

 

 

 

Hadi Sirika, the recently-retired Minister of Aviation, has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in relation to the investigation into the Nigeria Air project.

 

The minister is scheduled to appear before the commission within the next week to respond to inquiries about the launch of the national carrier and the claimed N3 billion spent on the aviation project,

 

Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesman for the EFCC, said that the Nigeria Air project was the subject of an ongoing investigation but provided no other information.

 

He stated, “I can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation in that regard.”

 

EFCC sources, however, stated that the agency would examine the N3 billion in public funds invested in the project.

 

The Nigerian Air's recent debut in Abuja was the subject of earlier EFCC interrogations of airline management.

 

The sources told news reports that, “We have already questioned some officials of Nigeria Air.
