Napoli have ended their 33-year long wait for a league title after a 1-1 draw at the Dacia Arena in Udine againstUdinese was enough to finally crown them champions of the league this season.
It never seemed to be in doubt that Napoli would be champions after a blistering start to the season which was the foundation to their current 16-point margin at the top of the league table. They began the season with a 15-game unbeaten run which saw them unbeaten in the league till January 2023.
Napoli last won the title in 1990 and have now won the title for the third time in their entire history and are also the first team outside Juventus, Inter or Ac Milan to win the Scudetto since 2001 (when Roma did).
Napoli and the fans have great appreciation for Nigerian International striker, Victor Osimhen who have helped them by being the top scorer in the league with 21 goals in 26 appearances, scoring crucial goals to win them points during the course of the season including the vital equalizing goal against Udinese which eventually crowned them champions.
Napoli’s previous two Scudetto wins came during the legendary Diego Armando Maradona’s era at the club in the 1986/87 and 1989/90 seasons but now have a third thanks to Victor Osimhen’s class of 2022/23 Napoli side.
