L.A.X (real name: Damilola Afolabi) is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, born on April 10, 1993, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is known for his unique blend of Afrobeat and Afropop music. 

L.A.X started his music career in 2013 after signing a recording deal with Starboy Entertainment, a label owned by Nigerian singer and songwriter Wizkid. He gained recognition in the music industry after featuring on Wizkid's hit song "Caro" in 2014, which received massive airplay and earned him a nomination for Best New Act at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

L.A.X recently discussed in an interview he had with Echo room on how he got signed to the wizkid record company after losing over 70 of his original tracks, finding himself, and starting over. Wizkid came to Manchester, listened to his tune, and signed him the same day. 

L.A.X addressed the issue of who provides the funding for his music and state that his father frequently does so in a manner like a partnership. Wizkid also provides where L.A.X believes there is a need to bridge a funding gap. He thinks highly of him and respects him greatly. 

Apart from music, L.A.X is also a trained graphic designer and has worked with several top brands in Nigeria. He is considered one of the fastest-rising artists in Africa and has a growing fan base both locally and internationally.
