MTV MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS NOMINATION LIST SHOWCASES NIGERIA ARTIST CONTRIBUTION TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

 

 

In the upcoming 2023 MTV Music Video Awards, Taylor Swift and SZA stand out as front-runners, securing eight and six nominations respectively. Notably, both artists earned recognition in the coveted Video of the Year category, with Swift's “Anti-Hero” and SZA's “Kill Bill.” Trailing closely behind are Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith, and Kim Petras, each receiving five nominations. 

 

The awards ceremony is scheduled for September 12 at Newark, New Jersey's Prudential Center. This year's nominations feature an impressive roster of 35 first-time nominees, including the Nigerian artists Davido and Burna Boy, who have made their mark on the global stage. The event will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
