Manchester city overtake Arsenal in the race for the title.

Manchester city have taken the top spot from Arsenal after their 2-1 away win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Pep Guardiola’s men after just 3 minutes but it didn’t take long for the hosts to fight back as Carlos Vinicius scored in the 15th minute making the scoreline even. Argentine forward, Julian Alvarez scored a beautiful goal as his brilliant effort from outside the box found the back of the net in the 36 minute. The world cup winning forward’s goal proved to be the winner and sealed all three points for the Cityzens and took them to the top of the league above Arsenal.

Erling Haaland’s strike meanwhile, which was his 34th of the league campaign, meant the forward is now on the verge of breaking the record for the most goals scored by any player in a single premier league season as he is now tied with Alan Shearer (1994/95) and Andrew Cole (1993/94) but has 6 more games till the end of the season. The Norwegian goalscorer has now scored 50 goals in all competitions for Manchester City this season since joining the club in the summer.
