Leeds United announce Sam Allardyce as new head coach.

Leeds United have announced that Javi Gracia has been sacked and would be replaced by Sam Allardyce who takes charge as the head coach on a short term basis until the June, the end of the current season.

Sam Allardyce has returned to the Premier League and would be tasked with keeping his new team in the top flight division as Leeds are in a fierce survival battle along fellow strugglers Southampton, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leicester city. Leeds who sit on 17th place in the table are tied on points (30) with 18thplace Nottingham Forest and 16th placed Leicester City with just four games to go before the end of the league campaign.

Sam Allardyce’s first assignment would be a huge task at the Etihad on the 6th of May as his new side would face Manchester City. Leeds then host Newcastle at Elland road before going to play two away games against West Ham and Tottenham to finish off the season.

Allardyce would be assisted by former MK Dons, Charlton Athletic and Oxford United manager, Karl Robinson.
