Lampard unfinished business at Chelsea?

According to multiple sources, Frank Lampard is set to be appointed as caretaker manager of Chelsea FC until the end of the season.

The former Chelsea midfielder and manager was present at Stamford Bridge, watching from the stands, the goalless draw against Liverpool as he was reportedly on the verge of accepting the role being offered to him as a caretaker manager till the end of the season.

The former Chelsea boss who also had a spell at Everton was sacked by Chelsea in January 2021 after 18-months as a manager of the club and is expected to be in charge of their next Premier League game against Wolves.

Chelsea had no discussion with Lampard on keeping the job beyond the summer with plans to search for a long term project manager after the current season with high profile names such as Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Luciano Spalletti on the list of targets.
