President Bola Tinubu and his V.P Kashim Shettima presented a copy of the Anambra State Labour Party (LP) membership record on Wednesday as proof that Peter Obi is not a registered member of the party.
Tinubu and Shettima contended in their answer to Obi and the LP's appeal that because Obi was not a member of the party at the time of the last presidential election, he was not qualified to run on the LP's platform.
Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), their lawyer, presented the document, as well as LP's letter dated April 25, 2022, delivering the membership record to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The records were given among other materials at the start of Tinubu and Shettma's defense in Obi and the LP's petition before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).
Despite the petitioners' counsel, Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), objecting to the documents' admission, the court did so and tagged them as Exhibits RA17 and RA18.
