IS BEYONCÉ THE REASON BEHIND CHLÖE’S LOW ALBUM SALES?

American singer-songwriter, record producer and actress Chloe Elizabeth Bailey known popularly by her mononymous stage name Chlöe released her long-awaited debut studio album In Pieces on 31st March, 2023.

The 37-minute body of art is lined up with 14-tracks comprising of Rnb, pop and trap melodies and featuring a handful of the music industry’s ‘heavyweights’.

However, despite heavy promotion from the artist, being signed by Beyoncé herself to Parkwood and Colombia records and it’s heavy singles featuring popular acts like Future, Chris Brown and Missy Elliott, the album debuted below the Hot 100 on it’s first tracking week at No. 110 and sold a total or 10,000 copies as per chart data’s metrics.

As a result, the album has been met with tons of criticism with several fans and media users calling out her mentor and signee Beyoncé for not promoting her artist’s work which would’ve at least helped her boost her sales and credibility, deeming it a part of her job and responsibilities to the singer signed under her belt.

Recall that In 2015, Chlöe and her sister, Halle, were signed to Bey’s label and management company Parkwood and have released several projects as a duo and Individual singles as well and many haven often wondered why the Queen bee doesn’t seem to publicly promote her talents or talk about them much.

With In Pieces being Chlöe’s debut album, many had been hoping for a more public show of support and publicity from the Single ladies singer but were met with the same silence and absence of support from the grammy award-winning icon.

Netizens have since taken to twitter to call out Beyoncé over allegedly publicly ignoring her artists.

“Not to be funny, but I really wanna know what was the point of Beyoncé signing Chloe?” one user wrote. “Like was it for a look? So that someone can be under her? I don’t get it, cause how do you let your artist drop an album & you don’t support it not once & now she sold 10k,” one user tweeted.

“Beyoncé nasty for not promoting Chloe’s album a simple IG repost would’ve probably gave Chloe a top 50 debut,” another said. “Mind you if this was Nicki’s artist, they would’ve dragged her to hell and back.”

“Beyoncé literally hates her lol didn’t do anything for the album couldn’t even give her a feature and she not even opening up for her during the tour ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Chloe need to leave that label,” another critic tweeted.

With low opening numbers and sales, many fans are enraged with Beyoncé wondering the point of signing the Have Mercy singer and subjecting her to poor management while many are calling Miss Bailey a “flop”.
