The world of journalism and press woke up yesterday to word on the street that King Charles III, Britain’s current reigning monarch in a statement, has left out Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex from the British royal family.
It was confirmed in the release that Prince Harry will attend only the official coronation ceremony of Britain’s current reigning mornach, as his wife, Meghan has not been invited. Many across the world are left wondering why and what this means for the young duchess. Some speculate that she is not expected to meet again with the royals and has been excluded from all future events tied to the crown.
Buckingham Palace had issued an official statement on Wednesday 13th, 2023 regarding the attendance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the official coronation of King Charles III, which is scheduled to be held from May 6th to 8th of this year.
After months of speculations, this statement serves as the first official statement that the British royals have released as regards the raging question the world has silently demanded an answer to over whether Harry and Meghan will attend the ceremony, despite all the jabs that the couple has made against several of the royal family’s members, including the monarch, his wife Camilla Parker, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton and all means made to cut ties with the brood.
The released statement did not provide a concrete reason as to why the duchess was not invited to the coronation, leaving many to wonder and speculate wildly:
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet“, said the issued statement.
While some reports have claimed that the duchess would not be in attendance due to her son, Prince Archie’s birthday falling within the same date as the coronation and would need to be present for his fourth-year celebration, some reports have claimed that the King has ultimately De-facto expelled the duchess from the Royal family’s gatherings, not deeming her attendance important in his historic event.
