Hajj: Five Nigerians Die in Saudi Arabia, 30 With Mental Problems

 

 

 

 

According to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Five Nigerian pilgrims who were taking part in the current Hajj in Saudi Arabia have died.

 

Usman Galadima, the leader of the NAHCON Hajj medical team, revealed this at a commission meeting on Saturday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and said that 30 of the patients also struggle with mental health issues.

 

He recorded the delegates as both coming from Osun and Kaduna states, while Plateau State registered one.

 

Galadima disclosed that the patients with mental disabilities are currently receiving treatment and would perform Hajj.

 

According to him, “There are 30 of them with mental health challenges.

 

“We have been managing them in our facilities. We have about four psychiatrists on the team.

 

“We have been managing them and all of them would likely perform hajj because they are a bit stable now.”

 

He further stated that the 2023 Hajj clinic recorded two miscarriages and delivered one baby.
