Haaland chase Foxes with Stones at the Etihad.

Manchester City cruise past Leicester City as first-half goals from Stones and Haaland were enough to avoid any EPL new manager bounce for the hosts at the Etihad Stadium.

It took just 5 minutes for John Stones to open the scoring before Haaland’s quick-fire brace in the 13th and 25th minute further extended the lead for Pep Guardiola’s men. Haaland took his league tally to 32 goals for the season going level with Mohamed Salah for the record number of goals scored in a 38-game league season.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s 75th minute strike was nothing more than a consolation for the visitors and wasn’t enough to avoid defeat as City go 3 points closer to the league leaders Arsenal having played the same number of games (30) after this match, although the league leaders play West Ham less than 24 hours later.
