Jibrin Mohammed, the Emir of Gurku, and his wife have been kidnapped. Jibrin Mohammed is a distinguished traditional leader in Nasarawa State.
The incident was confirmed to journalists by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer.
He revealed that on Sunday night, kidnappers abducted the Emir and his wife from their palace, which is a few miles from the Mararraba main town of Karu Local Government Area.
After receiving a distress call, a combined Police squad worked with vigilante groups to search the area's bushes, but they found no sign of the kidnapped people.
Efforts to free the Emir and his wife are still ongoing, as more police officers from the Police Tactical Team, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and other members of the Karu location Command have been dispatched to the location
