GRACEFUL AGING: HOW TO SLOW DOWN THE AGING PROCESS

 

We all have the desire to remain young and maintain our younger appearance. Of course it isn't a crime to feel that way.

One thing we cannot change is the natural aging process. We cannot deny the fact that we all can't stay young forever neither can we change the fact that aging will definitely occur. What we can change or alter however is the rate of aging. To an extent one can have a graceful aging process.

Everyday we engage in habits that can make our overall health suffer, causing us to age in the process. From the way you wash your face to the food you eat, these habits can make you younger or older than your chronological age

HOW TO SLOW AGING

It is important to note that aging cannot be avoided. There are however several things you can do to mitigate the environmental factors that influence aging.

Exercise most days of the week. 15 minutes of moderate activity per day can improve longevity compared to no exercise.

Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet. A few studies suggest that eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables may help prevent damage that leads to aging.

Quit smoking. Smoking greatly speeds up how quickly skin ages. It causes wrinkles and a dull, sallow complexion.

Hydrate. Drinking an adequate amount of water throughout the day can help keep your skin healthy and youthful-looking.

Get enough sleep. Chronic sleep deprivation is linked to poorer health and shorter life spans. Improving your sleep schedule by getting about 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night makes you feel better and live longer.

Drink less alcohol. Alcohol is rough on the skin. It dehydrates the skin, and in time, damages the skin making you look older.

Maintaining good, healthy relationships with other is good for your mental health. This makes you live longer.

Reduce stress

Cleanse your skin gently as rough scrubbing can irritate your skin, accelerating aging.

Say No to Soda

In spite of all these, aging cannot be prevented. Rather the acceptance of aging is pertinent to your emotional wellbeing. A graceful aging process can be well achieved
