Germany has allocated €10 million to the New Partnership for Africa's Development Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEPAD-IPPF) in an effort to enhance infrastructure development across Africa.

The announcement was made on Wednesday that the NEPAD-Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEPAD-IPPF) Special Fund will be replenished by the African Development Bank and KfW Development Bank, acting on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). These funds are expected to contribute to the advancement of regional infrastructure in Africa. According to the agreement details, the German Government will provide €10 million to replenish the Special Fund. The signing of the agreement took place in Berlin, with Helmut Gauges, Head of Financial Cooperation in Subsaharan Africa representing KfW, and African Development Bank Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Hassatou N’Sele. Germany's support will reinforce the NEPAD-IPPF's initiatives in critical areas such as sustainable, climate-resilient infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on the second Priority Action Plan of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa for the period 2021-2030 (PIDA-PAP 2).
