Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje the former governor of Kano state emerged as the APC National Chairman on Thursday.
The decision was taken barely an hour after President Bola Tinubu arrived at the Transcorp Hilton, the venue of the NEC meeting, on Thursday.
The NEC also confirmed Ajibola Bashir, from Osun State, as the national secretary of the party.
Their confirmation was announced on Thursday at the NEC meeting held at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
Dr. Ganduje replaced Abdullahi Adamu while Mr Bashir took over from Iyiola Omisore, as the substantive secretary of the party.
Supporters of the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday, trooped to the national headquarters of the party in excitement to await his arrival after he is elected the National Chairman of APC.
The jubilant supporters who were dressed in Babaringa, customized campaign shirts and caps to match, were seen chanting and dancing around the secretariat. their activities almost disrupted the peaceful programme but in the end, it was an all-smiling ending.
