FORMER FC BARCELONA'S GERALD PIQUE SLAMS EX SHAKIRA AND FANBASE, SINGER RESPONDS

Former Barcelona star player, Gerald Pique did not mince words when talking about his ex, Grammy-winning singer Shakira on a recent twitch live-stream podcast.

Pique [36] and Shakira [46] ended their 10-year plus relationship in June 22, 2022 after an epic love story that gave the celebrity couple two beautiful sons, Milan and Sasha.

Shortly after their split, Piqué was spotted getting cozy with Clara Chia in August 2022. After the PDA photos surfaced, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Shakira was “heartbroken” to see her former beau move on so quickly. However, the Spain native didn’t make things official with Chia, 24, until this January.

Things had been back and forth with the former lovers for months since then with Shakira recently leaving her home of 10 years during the star player’s run with FC Barcelona to Miami with their sons to start a new life.

The sports star, who has since moved on with 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti, seemingly called out fans of the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer over the ‘social media hate’ he says has hiked up since their June 2022 breakup.

“I am very disappointed with what society is,” the retired soccer player, 36, said in Spanish in a clip shared via Twitter on Monday, April 3. “So my ex is Latin American … you don’t know what I’ve gotten on social media from her fans. These people have no lives.”

As for how he feel towards the ‘hate train’, Piqué revealed that the social media comments are worth “zero” to him.

“I don’t care about anything, really,” Piqué continued. “It’s zero. It’s people who don’t have lives. How much care should you give them? It’s zero. You won’t ever know them in real life. They’re like robots.”

The 36-year-old Manchester United star instantly received backlash for his choice of comments from social media users who wondered: “What does her being Latin American have to do with anything????”

In her response, the Latin-American princess of pop tweeted:

“Orgullosa de ser Latinoamericana,” which translated in English means “Proud to be Latin American.”

Along with her tweet, the “Waka Waka” singer included 29 emojis representing the flag of Latin American countries.

Shakira’s subtle clapback at her ex came just hours after she revealed she would be moving to Miami with their children.

In an Instagram post, Shakira reflected on her time lin Spain and stated she will be starting a “new chapter” to give her children “their happiness”.
