"IN FORM SIX" NOMINATED FOR PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

The Premier League has announced the final six nominees for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for the month of March 2023. Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Arsenal attacking pair Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard are the players nominated for the award with the winner set to be announced on a later date after the end of the voting period by the fans on Monday the 27th of March. 

 

*Please Note - Before the winner is announced, the public votes by the fans will be combined with votes of a panel of football experts for the winner to emerge.*

 

Swedish International Forward Alexander Isak scored 3 goals in 2 starts across the month including the opening goal in a 2-1 win for his Newcastle side’s win over Wolves and also a brace to help his side come from behind to win at Nottingham Forest.

 

Alexis Mac Allister recorded two goals and an assist in 3 games in the month.

 

Being the only defender nominated shows the impact Tyrone Mings had on the overall performance of his Aston Villa side across the month not only in the defending aspect but also in the attacking end of the pitch as his assist in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth along with his 2 clean sheets helped his Villa side to an unbeaten month.

 

21-year old Bukayo Saka was directly involved in 5 goals for his side in the month including 3 goals and 2 assists. The England International also became the youngest Arsenal player in a season and first player in the league this season to reach double figures for goals and assists

 

Mohamed Salah’s joint-high five goal involvements in March showed the Egyptians impressive form inspiring his Liverpool side to 2 victories in the Month including a famous 7-0 victory against Manchester United in Anfield.

 

Leandro Trossard became the first player in the Premier League history to record 3 first half assists in an away game when his 3 assists helped his Arsenal side grab a 3-0 win against Fulham. The Belgian recorded two more assists in games against Everton and Crystal Palace taking his overall tally to 8 assists in the League this season.
