FG Increases Unity Schools’ Fees, UNILAG

The Tinubu-led Administration of the Federal Government of Nigeria has begun an increase spree across all sectors of the economy even while the citizens are still waiting for the unveiling of the palliative to cushion the biting effects of the subsidy withdrawal,  they have yet taken on the education sector.

Through the Federal Ministry of Education,  the Federal government has increased the school fees of new students into Federal Unity Colleges from 45,000NGN to 100,000NGN

This was contained in a circular from the Office of the Director of Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education dated 25th May, 2023, and addressed to all Principals of Federal Unity Colleges.

The Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir in the circular captioned "Approved fees/ charges for Federal Unity Colleges (1st Term) for new students“, said new students are expected to pay ₦100,000 instead of the previous N45,000.

Similarly, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities,  Lagos Branch after its meeting with NAAT and NASU has reviewed the school fees of there University of Lagos from 16,000NGN to 100,750 for students without laboratory,  140,250 for those who utilize laboratory and 190,250 for medical students respectively.
